I first met Robin back in 2018 when I photographed her and her husband’s wedding day. A few years later, our paths unexpectedly crossed again when we were both taking improv classes (in different groups!). It was such a fun surprise! So when I heard from Robin and her husband once more, it felt like reconnecting with old friends.

This time, the reason was especially sweet. Robin’s husband wanted to surprise her with a photoshoot to capture the beautiful bond she shares with her beloved dog, Winnie. How thoughtful is that? Robin has always had such a warm, kind energy, and little Winnie is completely her match. The connection between them is undeniable. Full of trust, love, and quiet understanding.

Photographing the two of them together was just so lovely! These are the kinds of sessions that remind me how important it is to document not just milestones, but relationships. Including the ones with our pets, who are such a huge part of our lives. We captured these photos at one of my favourite locations – the University of Guelph Arboretum.
